Modern diesel vehicles use an AdBlue / SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system to reduce NOx emissions. While effective for emissions control, AdBlue systems are one of the most common sources of warning lights, no-start conditions, and expensive repair bills.

We offer professional AdBlue diagnostics, system repair, activation, reset, and non-road software solutions, depending on your vehicle’s condition and intended use.

AdBlue (SCR) removal or software deactivation is illegal for vehicles used on public roads in Finland and the EU.

We perform AdBlue off software ONLY for:

  • Off-road vehicles
  • Motorsport vehicles
  • Export vehicles
  • Non-road-legal machinery
  • Dedicated work vehicles not used in traffic

For road-legal vehicles, we only:

WHAT IS THE ADBLUE SYSTEM?

AdBlue is a urea-based fluid injected into the exhaust system.
It works with the SCR catalyst to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.

Main components:

  • AdBlue tank
  • Dosing module
  • Pump
  • Pressure lines
  • Injector nozzle
  • NOx sensors (before & after SCR)
  • SCR catalyst
  • Tank heater
  • Line heater
  • Level sensor
  • Control module

When any part fails, the system can:

MOST COMMON ADBLUE PROBLEMS?

In our experience, the most frequent failures are:

Heater failures (very common in Finland)

  • Tank heater burns out
  • Line heater fails
  • Frozen AdBlue during winter
  • Short circuits inside tank module

Cold climate is one of the biggest killers of SCR systems.


Crystallization

AdBlue can crystallize if:

HOW TO PREVENT ADBLUE PROBLEMS?

To avoid SCR issues:

  • Use high-quality ISO-certified AdBlue
  • Store AdBlue properly (avoid freezing before filling)
  • Avoid long-term low-level driving
  • Fix engine faults quickly
  • Do not ignore NOx warnings
  • Drive vehicle long enough for proper SCR operation
  • Avoid constant short cold trips

In winter:

  • Keep tank at least ¼ full
  • Park in warmer space if possible
